Smarty Pants Pre-School LLC is family owned. Anthony and Pauline Serra have been married for more than a quarter century and have raised four daughters all who are continuing their training and education to achieve the greatest understanding of child development.

Pauline and I come from large families and were raised with traditional values of honesty, integrity, faith and devotion to family. These principles are embedded into the fibers of who we are.

To quote my father Pete Serra "Children of my children are twice my children"

We are parents who understand the needs and dreams of parents. We know the importance of providing a learning environment that will give children the opportunity to thrive physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually.

We acknowledge families face unprecedent­ed challenges as they seek a balance between raising children, working, and running a household.

We know sacrifices are made and we recognize parents deserve more assistance from their childcare provider.

Before opening in 2007 Smarty Pants Pre-School conducted a comprehensive two year study of the childcare industry. We examined all of the important aspects of child development.

Using the information learned as objective parents not business entrepreneurs we created policies and procedures, curriculum, enrichment programs, evaluation procedures, security protocols, emergency procedures, customer services, staff training, facility sanitation and cleanliness, staffing levels, staff credentials, all to be superior.

Our goal to raise the bar in early childhood education is supported by our commitment to attract and keep qualified childcare professionals. We continuously reinvest in our centers to maintain an industry leading status.

We take extreme precaution and uncompromising responsibility when taking your children into our care. We want to become your extended family. We strive to provide you with the peace of mind and the freedom you deserve while pursuing life.

We offer the confidence and assurance that your children are cared for in a way equivalent to a trustworthy family member.

We live in the local area and pledge our reputation on child safety and development. We are dedicated to providing high quality services and will continue to raise the bar in early childhood education.

I started at Smarty Pants when I was 11months old. Now I’ll be 3 in October. I know all my ABC’s, colors and numbers up to 20. That’s all really great stuff but what me and my family love about Smarty Pants is simple…FAMILY. Since Day one we felt like a part of their family. Having the family values that we have. My big brother Ethan is 4 and comes to Smarty Pants after his special school. Ethan has autism. The care they give him and most of all the love they show him words can’t describe. My brother Ethan is not easy to take care of. I see how hard mommy and daddy have to work. When my big brother comes here I can see the relief my mommy has knowing how wonderful they treat Ethan. Some other schools have thought of Ethan to be a bother but not to Smarty Pants’s family. I can see how they treat us like family. I love my teachers and friends. So it’s simple for me…FAMILY- that’s what I love about Smarty Pants Preschool.

How do you describe love in action? It’s taking time for each child: caring, compassionate, friendly, encouraging, building character, having fun, making memories, teaching academics, developing skills, fixing hair, making music together, laughing, playing, competing, listening, discovering, and preparing for grade school. All of this and so much more is what happens at Smarty Pants Preschool every day. It really is the place where you will find love in action.

Smarty Pants is an amazing school. I looked around to see what was available for my children and nothing I saw compared to Smarty Pants. The staff is amazing and compassionate. They take great care of my princess Kaydence. In a hectic situation they handle it with ease and do what needs to be done. My son was a handful and had been asked to leave from two other preschools and they accepted him and really made him feel like he was important rather than just “dealing” with him. He graduated from Smarty Pants a year ago and the staff still asks about him and he still asks to go back. He had a wonderful experience while he was in their care. They really helped shape him into the little man he is today. My daughter has been attending Smarty Pants on and off for almost two years now and she loves it. If she isn’t well enough to go she gets very upset. She is always excited when I drop her off and very happy when I pick her up. I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate everything Smarty Pants does for my family. I would recommend them to all my friends, and I have. Thank you so much for all the wonderful staff!

I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the orientation, and loved to see and hear everything you do. I know that over the past year I sometimes become emotional dropping Conor off or picking him up from school, it is very hard to leave your baby in someone else’s hands. However I am so glad that the hands I leave him in are those of Smarty Pants! Ms Danielle and Jillian definitely took the time my first year as a new Mommy to do more than just take care of my baby; they took care of me too! I know that Conor is loved and well taken care of, he is a happy baby and it is because of the great care he receives during the week. I love Smarty Pants and the entire extended Serra family!

Shannon will be going to elementary school now, which is good, but she will also be leaving the school which has helped her so much. When we brought her to you, she was introverted and constantly very sick because of another school we were sending her to. I do not need to tell you the conditions of the schools Shannon has previously attended. The level of improvement in her health and personality speaks volumes. Since Shannon started coming to your school, she is so much healthier, and has truly blossomed. I am grateful for everything your school, your family and your employees have done for her. You and your staff have not only cared for her, but have also cared about her personally. That level of caring, as well as the level of cleanliness you maintain, has truly been a godsend for Shannon at a time when she needed it most. I don’t know how to put into words how much I appreciate all you have done for my daughter. Please know that when I say “thank you” that is the most sincerely heartfelt sentiment.

When Brianna started Smarty Pants Pre-School I Knew we had made the right decision. Brianna always came home excited, full of life and happy. In addition to her cheerful mood she was learning new things every day. We have been using “Your Baby can Read” at home and were glad to know you were using it as part of your curriculum daily. We have seen a difference in Brianna and an increase in her vocabulary. At 18 months she is counting, learning colors, and has a huge vocabulary.

Being parents of a three year old, we are thankful for many things. One of the things we are most thankful for is the wonderful school that we are able to have our son attend. Cory has been with Smarty Pants his whole life and let me tell you what a blessing it is to have a sense of security and peace of mind when dropping him off every day and know he will be taken care of by people who care and love him. Our work schedules are hectic and it seems like Cory has been in school for 10 ½ hour days, the reassurance of knowing he is cared for, learning, growing in a healthy clean and safe environment while receiving genuine love is comforting.
